No worries. A 2.0 is on the way which addresses all the issues mentioned (except for the fixed in fremantle dark band). Unfortunately there is no simple way to retire this version until that one reaches extras-testing.
But the fact that it uses 100% of cpu also when backgrounded is good a reason thumbs down, if I could change it.
There's no way that wrong aspect ratio, title bar or even bad image quality can be a blocker for extras.
The vertical line has been adressed according to the bug-report so no release-grade firmware will have the problem. That's a fixed in Fremantle right there :)
As for the bug reporting. I'm clueless. Help. "http://bugs.maemo.org is the preferred option. Otherwise it needs to be identified in the http://maemo.org/packages/ page. ". I don't see how to register in the first, or a standards compliant way of entering in the second (surely not in the package description ??).
As for aspect ratio and wrong title bar... I agree they are wrong. However reading through the QA blocker section I did not get the impression they were BLOCKERS (otherwise I would have not promoted the package to testing). If they really are, please correct the wiki accordingly.

Wrong aspect ratio is a blocker.
gst-... too.
The black strip is not your fault but... do you think the user will know and feel better because of this? Can you trick this by cutting the image? Otherwise I would just wait until this is fixed.
Also the quality of the image is quite bad, at least with artificial light indoors. Maybe offering a smaller image?
Far from Extras imo but I will keep it since it's a good test app for the vga camera. ;)

The vertical bar on the right is definitely an internal Nokia issue and not mirror's fault - going to update https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5663 soon after reflashing here
Additionally to what has been already written here, the title bar of the app says "gst-launch-0.10".
Same problems as Aniello: aspect ratio wrong, vertical bar on right hand side and image quality is absolutely terrible. Not even nearly ready.
We seem to have a misunderstanding. I have little-to-no control of the quality of the kernel level output. The image is as-is (noisy+vertical band) because that's what the /dev/video1 outputs. Not sure what I should do to make it 'more' ready in that regard (unless I start constructing filters, which is really not the focus of this app). The aspect ratio issue is valid.
The vote down is not due to the weird vertical bar on the right side, but to the aspect ratio not correct and because I think there should be a wrapper that intercepts basic system events and act accordingly (like stopping the use of the camera when switching to another task, like Camera does)
