mBarcode is a 1D & 2D barcode scanning app for the Maemo platform.
mBarcode is a barcode scanning app for the Maemo platform, which allows a user to scan
1D (e.g. EAN/UPC barcodes) and look them up on different websites. You can also scan QR codes and Datamatrix codes and display the
information contained therein. If the information is an URL, the browser will be opened
for you, and if it's a VCARD it will be inserted into your contacts database.
Other payloads will also be handled in the fullness of time!

I'll see what I can do about that pipeline close/LED on bug.
Oh, I thought all packages needed the thumbs up. You have a valid point about the packages. The idea was to put them in separate packages to maintain them outside the main package. When they already were in separate packages, I decided to make it possible for the user to remove certain plugins if they'd like to. If I knew they didn't need to be tested separately outside user categories I would have uploaded them as libs instead. Thanks for the tip!
I've know about that bug for some time, but it comes from a request to the pipeline to stop requesting data from the camera. For some reason the camera shuts off, but the LEDs stay on. I don't know if we can detect if the LEDs are on and wait until they turn off with stopping the pipeline? Or somehow disable the LEDs by force?
mbarcode-core isn't in user/ category so it shouldn't need separate promotion or thumbs up. I don't understand why you are making testing so complicated for yourself by keeping multiple entries in user/ category anyway.
There's a quite bad power saving bug in mbarcode. When closing the lens cover LEDs do not turn off if they happened to be on. LEDs also often stay on after succesfull scan until scanning is continued.
Thank you all for taking your time to promote this package. However, we still have a dependency on mbarcode-core that needs to be promoted before mbarcode can be let through to Extras.
