luxus 0.4-4

Light meter homescreen widget for the N900, can display lux and EV values Luxus uses the built-in light meter of the N900 and displays the current light value on the desktop as a semi-transparent, composite-drawn value. When you tap the widget, it switches between lux and EV (Exposure Value) units. EV is assumed to be for ISO 100 and perhaps usable for photography, accuracy of the N900 light meter permitting. I didn't need a reboot. The widget placed itself on the desktop after install and was listed in the widget menu.

AFAIK it shouldn't need a reboot in order to appear in the widgets menu but i'll have to check it... I am going to fix the power management soon.

Ok managed to make it working, it just needed a reboot. Please write that in your description, or make a note appearing during the installation.

However, thumbs down for the power management issue.

I can't even test your app, because there's no file in /opt/bin...

No widget appears in the widget menu, nor in the applications menu.

  • widget is active when screen is locked. the high cpu usage during screen-lock causes battery to drain faster. please suspend the widget when screen is locked OR when not on active desktop.
  • nice to see an app utilizing the light-meter.
  • thanks.
