Thanks to everyone, now it works well.
Hi Emanuele.
I had the same problem. I downloaded VLC Portable, extracted it, Linked Knots to it like so; " C:/Program Files/vlc/VLCPortable.exe " and it works fine.
It just means Knots didn't detect it, go to settings tab and add the full path to vlc.exe there, save, stop and start server again. If it says vlc is running under status tab, it should work.
I'm on Windows XP.
Running the cmd you told it says:
VLC patch missing, so not starting it. Knots will not work.
What does that mean? I do have VLC installed on my machine.
Does it say VLC is running in Status tab? If not, can you close the server from the menu, then go to the directory where you installed the server and double click on the RunKnotsInTerminal.cmd? If this is Windows 7 or Vista, you maybe seeing he UAC bug, check wiki for Windows problems and check if http://wiki.maemo.org/Knots2#Windows_3 helps you.
Can't stream any media, but I don't think it's Knots 2's fault (at least the client on the N900). I can't reproduce anything even using the server on my PC (http://localhost:1978/): it says that streaming is impossible because the file doesn't exists (it actually exists ;) ), or VLC can't find it or VLC crashed.
What can I do about that?
