gPodder Podcast Client 2.6-1
A podcast aggregator for the Nokia N900
gPodder is a podcast receiver/catcher with a specialized UI that
has been optimized for Maemo 5 and the N900. Podcasts are like
short radio shows that you can download from the Internet and
subscribe to like blogs or news feeds.
gPodder supports both audio and video podcasts equally, and is
said to be one of the most usable podcast clients available.
Different versions for several platforms and devices exist.
This is the Maemo 5-optimized version of gPodder.

Comments:
after upgrade to 2.6-1, gpodder wasn't starting from Application menu, which is why I tried on command-line and thought the exception was also present when starting with application menu. Anyway, I've upgraded by device to PR1.2, reinstalled gpodder 2.6-1 and it is starting fine from applications menu now (and it works fine with --fremantle on CLI). Changing my vote to +1
Frederic: In addition to that, I've now implemented auto-detection of Maemo 5, so that in future versions (not 2.6, but the release after that), you won't be bitten by that bug even if you don't pass the right arguments to gPodder. For gPodder 2.6, just run gPodder from the application icon or use "gpodder --fremantle" in X Terminal. If it still does not work, post the output of "gpodder --fremantle --verbose" as a bug report against gPodder on http://bugs.maemo.org/ - thanks!
Frederic: As has been the case for every version of gPodder so far, you have to start gPodder in X Terminal with the "--fremantle" switch, otherwise it will start the Desktop version, which is not what you want on Maemo 5. Do it like this, and it will work:
gpodder --fremantle
on second run of 0.26-1, I get a exception : ... from gpodder.gtkui.desktop.sync import gPodderSyncUI ImportError: No module named desktop.sync
I have a mygpodder.net account configured already.
