Gcompris Educational Games for Children 8.4.5-9
Educational games for small children
GCompris is a large collection of educational games for small children.
It is designed to be a unified interface to integrate more educational
games.
Language-oriented games contain vocabulary, sounds, and voices for many
different languages; check the gcompris-sound packages for your
language.
Currently available boards include:
* learning how to use a mouse and keyboard
* learning simple arithmetic
* learning how to read an analog clock
* recognize letters after hearing their names
* reading practice
* small games (memory games, jigsaw puzzles, ...).
It is designed so that it is easy to implement new boards into
GCompris.
A number of boards are only available if other packages are
installed; see the Suggests list for more details.

Comments:
Does not suspend on screen lock.
The new version is built and waiting for the maemo.org autobuilder to become sane again.
We need the bug tracker link to be added please, great app, its a great addition to get the little ones hooked on Nokia and the N900 ;)
It works, it's a bit slow, but playable. It's optified and doesn't clutter the Application Manager with those sound modules anymore.
The only worrying thing is that when you launch it, it normally blackens the screen, then you get thrown back to the desktop, wait a little longer, and the game suddenly loads successfully.
