FM Radio Player 2009.12.13
Turn the N900 into a FM radio
The headphones cable is the antenna. With this application you can tune into FM radio stations, just like in the old days before there was internet radio.

Comments:
I can confirm the bug. https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7086
It also mutes the call sign...
Fix that and I'll vote "+" ;-)
Cheers Bjoern
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7086 would change my vote to -1
There is still mixer bug.
10 votes within just two days. This is awesome! Thanks, guys! :D
@Michal Predotka: Message notifications are supposed to interrupt the radio for a while. This is a policy requirement for the notification to get noticed by the user.
Agree on the great improvement (usability and non-freezing) this is over the old version. Confirm the various sound-interuption problems, but not blockers.
Phone call with radio worked fine - paused when the call started (not when the phone app is opened) and returned after hangup.
Looking forward to autoscan once I saw it picks up RDS (or whatever our equiv is?) and nicely displays the text.
I can confirm this issue with the power button, but it does't happen every time for me. Sometimes sound in FM Radio goes back after unlocking. Also message notifications interrupt the radio for a while. Apart that I really like this new version.
First I would like too say, This is a great app. and I like it. The one thing I have noticed is that when the screen is blank and I press the power button too see what time it is, the sound stops. This also happens when I press power button and then slide too unlock. The unlock/lock button next too the headphone output doesn´t do this.
Martin you can also vote on your own app, please do, because very few people vote and every vote counts.
Autoscanning will be in the next release. For now it's more important to get the mic issue fixed.
Autoscanning is nice-to-have but not a critical feature IMHO. Old FM radios didn't have it either. We'll have it soon.
I was listening FM Radio, then I opened web browser and went to http://vimeo.com/8153777 to play the video about FM Radio. After that radio became silent. I closed web browser, but radio still was silent.
Also I don't understand how is auto-scanning suppose to work. Or is it not implemented in this release?
"Bluetooth enabled" is displayed by Maemo as soon as it detected that Bluetooth was powered up. So FM radio cannot do much about this message.
It works much better now along with handling phone calls. If you already have bluetooth enabled is it necessary to still display "Bluetooth Enabled"?
I made a call when using the app and the radio stream was interrupted during the call and brought back when the call ended. Great work!!
Especially important for testing is making and receiving calls while running the FM radio app.
