Comments:
Thumbs up - with a caveat about the bugtracker.
On implementation.
It should probably not poll the sms database every 5 seconds, this uses a not-quite trivial amount of power. (perhaps enough to drop the battery life by a couple of hours for a device mostly in idle. While not a blocker - it's certainly something that should be looked at - one app doing this isn't a problem - but it's cumulative. Powertop shows it as 10% of wakeups. There is a dbus event sent on incoming SMS/calls - perhaps that would be reasonable to listen to.
@Emanuele: I don't know why this is happening. I haven't changed anything on my builder.py file (I use py2deb). Now every version I check I get the same broken link.
Maybe this is added automatically by the system?
Anyway I'm now uploading ver 0.1.0-1 with some updated dependencies.
@Omer: sorry for rumoring again, but I've just discovered you have a broken bugtracker link, I've to vote thumbs down again :(
It starts with XSBC-Bugtracker, so it doesn't work.
@Emanuele - thank you for the information. I'm doing some process kill in order to avoid reboot, but apparently it's not helping. I'll look into how to to add request for a reboot during installation.
@Omer: seems that a reboot was needed, because today all seems to work very well. Changing my vote to thumbs up, but you should write in your description that a reboot is needed.
Emanuele, I haven't changed nothing regarding the sound notification, if you get the vibrations there's no reason you shouldn't get the sound as well. Can you cat your conf file at /home/user/.config/CallNotify/conf.txt ? Maybe the settings are not saved properly.
No matter the interval I set, vibrations seems to be random and sound notification doesn't exist.
Notification in the statusbar seems to work, but alarms and vibrations don't work. Set every 0.1 minutes but nothing seems to happen.
