I would say that inability to play this game without us-keyboard is a blocker but other people doesn't seem to agree.
You should make fn+left and fn+right combinations to work. fn key is SDLK_MODE modifier in SDL

Game should pause when entering the dashboard (left in background)
Menu are not usable with different keyboard layout, e.g. italian keyboards like mine. We don't have 4 arrows, just 2 and up/down arrows as secondary functions. Using the blue secondary function arrow doesn't work, so I've to switch to the english keyboard layout in order to play your game. You should automatically select that layout for the keyboard when opening the game.
Is there just one level?
