This plugin to be useful needs a way to join channels, beyond even invites.

My suggestion is that a contact with a #@ would allow join and/or a "startup commands" config option on the account with the channels to autojoin.

didn't have a clue what to do after I've connected. (and I've been using ircII, irssi, xchat etc a lot couple years ago)

The connection closes/log-outs whenever it receives an INVITE request. I'm assuming this is related to: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24273

I think comment #4 sums up the current state: << Currently IDLE on the n900 seems a bit pointless without channels or proxy support. >>
