Jason, for the failed login, maybe you are logged in already. It doesn't yet automatically choose a new irc nickname as most irc clients would: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=586940
Unlike Empathy, it doesn't even tell you that that's the problem.
So a -1 (or more) from me for the lack of any UI and for the unexpected login behaviour and unhelpful error message.
Argh. I wanted to give a -1 only but gave also a +1. Sorry for that.
One can log onto a server (tested this a few weeks ago) but that's all - there is no UI. This was also discussed in the Telepathy talk by Marco and Naba given at the Maemo Summit.
Doesn't appear to work. Cannot login and those who can cannot join any IRC chatrooms... most likely because the multiuser chat UI was removed in Maemo 5.
