Comments:
thumb up for messenger support, which is way better than others what i tested, this actually works without random drops from network + not connecting back.
I am trying to file a enhancement request for network proxy support. I see the bugtracker leads to Telepathy upstream. Is it best to use that make my request? I am asking because I don't know if Telepahy upstream supports the plugin. In any case You use the libpurple library which already supports network proxy (unlike most telepathy IM libraries) It would just be cool if you can embed network proxy config to the settings GUI thanks
It would be really cool if the dev can add support for http_proxy because currently this only works if you are connected directly to the internet. They seem to be no way to get it to work with http proxies.
purple-protocol-sametime | libpurple0 (= 2.6.2-1maemo0) dependency looks strange at best and potential source for version problems.
Author has stated that purple-protocol-sametime is obsolete and libpurple0 (= 2.6.2-1maemo0) is not going to work because it conflicts with pidgin if it was installed first.
In my tests versions resolved OK with pidgin too, but I would recommend that depends line is changed for future versions for example to libpurple0 (>= 2.6.2-1maemo0) (+ extra libs if needed), because that's what current line effectively is.
For me, this is broken since libpurple0 and purple-extra-protocols are updated to version 2.6.4. It only works if you downgrade these packets to 2.6.3.
Thanks, Corwin
how to download it ??? i dont think i can download the deb file ?
anyone tested it with PR1.1 yet?
My favorite Maemo 3rd party app (or plugin) so far :D
Is there a way to make the plugin work with network proxy. since libpurple has very good proxy support perhaps proxy settings could be included in the account settings
Excellent app!
I have download the update and now works fine
The ICQ plugin prepends the user's ICQ account number instead of their nickname to outgoing messages in the conversation view (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25869).
This package is not designed to integrate with Pidgin. Pidgin is a third-party application in extras. This package is designed to integrate into the official Maemo 5 desktop. As a result, the Pidgin package will not acknowledge the presence of a chat in the "background".
I added to some contacts MSN accounts, but I can chat through conversations. If I press (in the contact profile) the MSN account, appear window of accounts supported by maemo (Skype, Gtalk and Jabber), but no reference to Pidgin that it's active in background.
