Sci-Fi/Fantasy RPG game As a space pilot Tom Driscoll you are sent on a scout mission to a desert planet. Things go wrong as it happens and you find yourself crash-landing on the planet, which is not desert at all. Its blooming with life and inhabited by cat-like humanoid creatures called Iskai. A fantastic adventure begins! Installation & General Notes: ----------------------------- You can either install the Albion Demo package or provide the full game files from the original CD. You can use the savegames from the demo in the full game and the other way around, but if you use saves that are too far into the game in the demo, the game will crash. Also note the game currently crashes at the end of the demo (right after you leave the first island). By default, the game will save its data (configuration, saves, runtime data) to MyDocs/games/Albion. This directory will be created automatically on first launch. To play the full game, all you need to do is to copy the directory ALBION/XLDLIBS from the original CD to the game directory (so you should have the MyDocs/games/Albion/XLDLIBS directory). You can change the game directory, as well as the keybindings and few other things, in the configuration file /home/user/.config/albion/albion.cfg (also created on first launch). Gameplay Tips: ----------------------------- You can use either arrows or the 'mouse' (tap on the screen) to move around. Press Space and tap to emulate a right click. That brings up context menu to inspect and manipulate things. Double click on the caracter portrait will bring up inventory and character screen. Explore it and try right clicks on various places to find out what you can do. Default Keybindings: ----------------------------- Right Mouse Button: SPACE + tap Escape (enter main menu): CTRL + Q Pause (pause the game): COMMA Tab (show map): PERIOD Page Up (look up in 3D mode): SHIFT + UP Page Down (look down in 3D mode): SHIFT + DOWN Troubleshooting: ----------------------------- If you get the following error: fatal: Unable to open <CD_PATH>/XLDLIBS/FONTS0.XLD You do not have the file FONTS0.XLD in the XLDLIBS directory. The most probable cause is that you copied the XLDLIBS directory from your Albion installation on your PC. This is not the same directory and doesn't contain all files. Please copy XLDLIBS directly from the <CD>/ALBION directory.
