Comments:
To provide some more clarity, when Teppo said "1) apt-get update does not install slang1a-utf8 if sources.list is not correctly set ( i.e. I messed up)", it took me a while to figure out what needed to be done to the source repository list.
slang1a-utf8 is only available in the SDK repository.
If you're manually editing /etc/apt/source.list/hildon-application-manager.list add the following:
deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/sdk free non-free
If you're happier using App Manager, then add a new catalogue:
Catalogue name: Fremantle SDK Web Address: http://repository.maemo.org Distribution: fremantle/sdk Components: free non-free
Once you've done that and reloaded the repositories, Mutt will install using apt-get.
Hi, Sébastien,
You are correct. The reason why I originally made the wrong conclusion was:
1) apt-get update does not install slang1a-utf8 if sources.list is not correctly set ( i.e. I messed up), and 2) The GUI installer of N900 claims that the package you referred is uninstallable.
Hopefully this helps those who seek this page for information on a similar issue..
Thanks once more for the reply!
From what I can understand, slang1a-utf8 has been removed on i386 target, not on armel, you should be able to install it on N900. See: http://maemo.org/packages/package_instance/view/fremantle_sdk_free_armel/slang1a-utf8/1.4.9dbs-8/
I've just "apt-get update" and "apt-cache show slang1a-utf8" works as expected.
I was delighted to notice that mutt is being ported, thank you for this !!
This package depends on slang1a-utf8, which has been removed from this repository; see http://maemo.org/packages/view/slang1a-utf8/ . How to install ?
