Comments:
I use FLAC for everything apart from one or two tracks I bought off iTunes and my ringtone.
Even then, as soon as I can "acquire" those in FLAC, they will be replaced (except the ringtone).
If I could buy tracks straight as FLAC I would have a 100% FLAC music collection on my N900 too.
Personally I can live without duration and rarely use seeking too. I am more likely to seek mp3 or aac than FLAC, as those would be podcasts, audio books, etc, where lossless is less important.
Album art would be nice though, as the media player rather assumes you have it wasting a lot of screen space if you do not.
I have not written in album art or duration support yet, but I plan on adding them soon. Seek support is also needing to be fixed. See bug 5504.
I plan on only using FLAC on my N900 so having everything supported is a must.
Installed this with apt-get (its not showing in app manager yet as its unverified), closed media player completely, ran "tracker-processes -r", loaded media player again and waited patiently.
Now all my FLAC music is properly categorised under album and artist. I never realised how painful it would be to use my N900 for 10 days before the tags worked, really pleased now.
Cannot test album art as I am no aware if any of the tracks on my N900 has art.
