Allegro is a cross-platform library intended for use in computer games
and other types of multimedia programming. It is used by many DOS games
and can be used to port them easily to Linux. Allegro supports many
kinds of input and output interfaces, e.g. X11 (Xlib or DGA),
framebuffer, SVGAlib.
NOTE: you should install XFree86 to use the display output plugins.
Alternatively, you can use the framebuffer output, or install the

Comments:
Think I had a problem either compiling or packaging the other modules (have not looked into it much since the game - Liquidwar - I needed this library for does not run fast enough). If you can get the other modules working that would be great, and if you do please upload to extras-devel.
How to enable sound in games using allegro? seems alsa, esd, oss not working as output :( only using jack and allegro jack plugin?(did not try)
