Hello all,

I'm a senior developer, enloved by N900 device and maemo. I'm always very busy, and in available time, I have a family to give attention, then, my time is limited. So do not expect to much activity.

I do not found any other way to read google books in N900 than web browsing.
Than I started this project and pretend write a tool for this task.

The intent is a great user interface to search books and ready/download them. A command line tool for this task will be provided too.

I already wrote a shell script to prove the concept of access google api and download image of book pages.

The language used will be C, the libraries SDL.

here are two versions of the GUI for LUCID: desktop and mobile. Apart from the obvious interface differences (desktop looks like a conventional pogram; mobile has buttons for touhscreen use) the underlying 3D graphics used different approaches in OpenGL. These are being unified so that both versions use derivatives of the same OpenGL Shader Language (OGSL) code which helps reduce code duplication elsewhere. Developers can pick the user interface, and GLSL shader version, at compile time. The new version is being tested on mobile, tablet and desktop machines. More news soon.

Latest update - some features had to be removed / downgraded in order for the code to compile correctly using recent versions of Qt and OpenGL ES2.0. These features will be returned in future versions (e.g. contour plot with key next to display).

Shading has been improved to some extent in this version.

Thought it better to release something - and remove older versions. More updates to come in next month.
