bunanson's WorldTV99 and kmplayer now join forces. A feature was added to install plalists at the main level in kmplayer's native format only.
This allows playlists to be upgraded like upgrading applications. Also inline SMIL is supported. Read how this works at http://kmplayer.garage.maemo.org/playlist.html.
At this writing the chinook extras doesn't update the packages list, so for chinook users download the packages directly from http://repository.maemo.org/extras/pool/chinook/free/ . Diablo users are not affected.

Changes since 0.8.4
* Fix smil files not replayable in the active playlist
* Fix a bug that made clicking on groups while playing kmplayer non stoppable
* Suggest a proper name if saving an enclosed url from a feed
* Support foreign installable playlists
* Don't resend F4, the menu hardware button, in fullscreen
* Rebuild the playlist less often

Zmapper was orignally on the Zaurus as a fast way of using maps from the US Census Tiger database. That still works, but with older maps as they've changed formats (for the better). But it will take some time. I also wrote a superfast GPSD which eventually found its way onto a KR1 EVDO router, and I've ported it to the n8x0 platform. It saves the route as a KML file with embedded comments (including engine data from my motorcycle, but that is another post for later).

I've packaged that and will probably release it as the first file for this project. I'm also trying to do a GPS monitor to superceed the current statusbar/cp one.

New release featuring fullscreen playlist controls.

Reading some of the comments on internettablettalk, it seem to me that moving forward or backward in the playlist is a much wanted feature.
Now you can use the D-Pad keys in fullscreen to move and Enter to play it.

Nicer are the fullscreen controls, that popup when tapping in the top right corner of the screen. In addition to the moving and execute buttons, you'll also see the text of the playlist entry.
For Mplayer, which responds to D-Pad keys, using the on-screen controls is a way to prevent Mplayer terminating.

Support for the M3UEXT title lines is added. So if the m3u file starts with a line containing #EXTM3U, lines that start with a # will become the title of the following Url.

Changelog since 0.8.3
* Fix playing a map, eg. an already played ASX, to always play first entry
* Fix changing player for not stopping the previous player
* Fullscreen controls to move through the playlist
* Fix some Gtk warnings
* Support for m3uext tags, only # lines for setting the title on next entry

[Extras Repository Management] Rebuild all chinook source packages on autobuilder

Hi all,

Currently Ed Bartosh and I are working on taking all source packages from the extras repository and try to build them on the autobuilder. The goal of this chinook rebuild effort is to get a set of packages buildable 'from scratch'.

Once we are able to build all(most?) packages on chinook, we can try to automatically build them for diablo. So we can have a lot of packages in the diablo repository at release of diablo.

There is a web page[1] up with the first run, which was done over the weekend. All packages are listed in build order, based on dependencies, with their build results for i386 and armel. If a package build failed, a link to the build log is provided.

If you provide a source package in extras, please check if your package is building OK. If you only provide binary packages in extras, we would like to encourage you to provide source packages too! We could really use some help from the community in pushing towards 100% OK build of every package in extras.

When you have updated your package to fix the issues, please use the 'request rebuild' option on the packages list. This gives us the opportunity to track changes as a result of the list. We will rebuild packages on a regular interval and post a summary to this list. Let's see if we can get all packages to build!

Erminig 0.2.9 has been released on the garage web page. This release is exactly the same as the one distributed by David Hautbois (the original author of Erminig).
It will be used as a starting point for all future release of Erminig.

Next step for Erminig is the creation of a new webpage (very much inspired from the one of David)
