The Media Application Framework project has moved today to open development. This middleware component will make its debut in Maemo 5 as backend of the Media Player, and it is offered also to developers of media services and applications. You can read more about MAFW in the documentation and also in the Ars Technica review.

MAFW had a first release in January and is available in the Maemo 5 alpha SDK but now the development can be followed through the code repository as well. Currently the Fremantle development is approaching feature freeze. Feedback is welcome!

Yes, maemo-developers and the corresponding component in http://bugs.maemo.org are good channels.

Where should this feedback and questions be directed ? I see no lists on garage and keen to believe that CCing all the devs or writing complex things/code here is not the best method :) Or should we just dump to maemo-developers ?
