I think most of us are familiar with PIN code system on mobile devices. However on N900 if you dont know the PIN you can simply skip that window and it will continue to boot into OS. So even without SIM support e.g. you wont be able to make phone calls but all other functions are available.

I suggest if skip button is pressed N900 must ask for current lock code and deny access if code is wrong
