very nice, I use this all the time... thanks!

It would be great if there would be a single applet where one can control (switch on/off) wifi, 3G, GSM and GPS. Now everybody is creating applets that only do one, making the menu crowded ;)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've experienced a minor bug about plugin not showing up in control panel after installation depending on other installed plugins. I will upload a fixed and improved version ASAP. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Tomasz Dominikowski

I will add XB-Maemo-Display-Name. I skipped it as it makes not a big difference in reality:

wifi-switcher vs. Wifi switcher

Do I need to upload a new version to extras-devel for that?

This works well, but it's strange that the >button doesn't look pressed or doesn't indicate >which state WLAN is in when you go the menu. We don't need a "Wifi Switcher" label on that >button, just "Disable WLAN" when it's enabled >and "Enable WLAN" when it's disabled.

There is an indicator in the system tray when the wlan is disabled by wifi-switcher if it is not there wlan is in standard "always online" maemo mode. The button is just there so that people doesn't have to open a terminal to launch the helper script, adding autodetection of wlan state and changing the label accordingly will increase code complexity. I would like to keep it simple as I have little spare time to devote to this project and I still hope that nokia will release a working firmware so that wifi-switcher is not needed.

I encourage you to utilize maemo-specific debian/control fields to make the name more friendly (using XB-Maemo-Display-Name)

@ Venomrush Mostly changes in wifi.sh helper script to clean it up and improve robustness.

Thank You Tito, you provided a simple yet safe and powerful method to stop my battery drainage issue.

I'm using it since 0.0.2 and no problem at all.

A vote for you ;)

What's the changelog since 0.0.4 uploaded in Bugzilla?

Glad it's now in Extras-Testing!

Seems to work well, I'll keep an eye on my battery during these days. Thumbs up
