As with earlier versions of mClock, this attempts to update the screen every second; even when the screen is off or the app is in the background.

Leaving running overnight (not untypical for a clock when travelling) could result in a drained battery. For power-saving tips, see similar issues in FlipClock: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=25582&page=10

About the power issues, it would be nice if the clock is idle when:

• the screen is off
• the application goes to second plane

Right now, running powertop with the device in idle and just running mClock is a bit worrying.

Works for me, and the clock is visible even when minimized, nice.

For a clock application this has very bad power saving features. Unfortunately fixing it completely would probably mean dumping pygame and thus considerable rewriting.
