Comments:
Sorry for the double post... the connection was just to laggy. My fault.
The applet works so far, but could IMHO benefit from the following improvements:
Scan the config file for keywords which expect files. Copy all those. Currently "dh" and "tls-auth" files for example are ignored and not copied.
Add a field "VPN-Alias" to give it a name instead of using the filename up to the first dot. You might wan't to grep the "dev" value as initial value.
Add a subfolder for every VPN (/etc/openvpn/${VPN-ALIAS}) so files don't get overwriten (it's common to have a seperate ta.key and dh2048.pem file for every connection)

@Malcolm It does copy files to /etc/openvpn if the file paths are not hard coded and if there are no subdirectories.
be nice if you select files outside /etc/openvpn it would copy them there
Tried. No problem here. Thanks.
Bugs: https://bugs.maemo.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=openvpn (select applet component)
The applet isn't showing properly on screen with more than half of the menu missing.
