Kobo Deluxe 0.5.1-5maemo6

Game of space battle Kobo Deluxe is a third person scrolling 2D shooter with a simple and responsive control system - which you'll need to tackle the tons of enemy ships that shoot at you, chase you, circle around you shooting, or even launch other ships at you, while you're trying to destroy the labyrinth shaped bases. There are 50 action packed levels with smoothly increasing difficulty, and different combinations of enemies that require different tactics to be dealt with successfully. It's loads of classical arcade style fun.

Thumbs down is impossible because the package is promoted already. So this was the only way to give feedback.

I would follow this arguments: https://garage.maemo.org/pipermail/testingsquad-list/2010-March/000042.html

There has been written by Charles: "I think one of the biggest problem with this approach is that the comment section is then only relevant for a specific package version.

Once another version is out we don't have any way to follow up with the previous problems encountered."

IMHO you also should know that you are the person who invests the most time into this application but testing application also needs a lot of time for the testers. And for them a bugtracker (or at least a thread in talk.maemo.org) safes time.

Eh? You seem to be the only one who thinks this is a major problem. This works for me, and that should be enough for everybody.

Is it so hard to create a new thread to tmo or put your email as a link? takes a second or two... You're the only one that thinks this is a major problem.

It works just fine for this one. As long as there is better default (as in automatically created) bugtracker.

So you want to use this page here as your "bugtracker"? Uhm. I wonder if that will work out.

have you ever thought about writing clearly what is wrong with bugtracker link instead og linking to that wiki page?

Link redicts to this page in case you haven't clicked it. If it doesn't work for sorry about that.

and imo the point of bugtracker is that you can report a bug easily. open applications page, click bugtracker -link and start filing a bug. have you ever thought why a bugtracker link is in the page in the first place?

Mikko, did you read the link I posted?

lets put it again: http://wiki.maemo.org/Bugtracker

I can also quote it here: Validity criteria for bugtrackers and bugtrackers links

Actually, these bugtrackers links are considered valid:

* A link to a product dedicated page in bugs.maemo.org (e.g. https://bugs.maemo.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=xxx)
* A link to a product dedicated page in another known bugtracker (e.g. Google Code, Gitorious, etc.)
* A link to a Garage bugtracker (e.g. https://garage.maemo.org/tracker/?group_id=xxxx)
* A mailto link (just for small applications)
* A link to an opened thread about the application in talk.maemo.org (e.g. http://talk.maemo.com/showthread=xxxxxx)

These bugtrackers link are considered NOT valid:

* General links that do not lead to a dedicated page (e.g http://talk.maemo.org or https://bugs.maemo.org)
* Mispelled links

The bugtracker Url is a redirection service right? perhaps linking it to the talk.maemo.org thread instead of package instance would make sense.

My email is still in the maintainer field

2010-02-26 18:50 UTC

Nice! The bugtracker is somehow unconventional. Why not just use your email address; It will make things work better. This way it is not possible to send you screenshots or patches.

WTF? Could you explain what is wrong with this bugtracker?

There's one thing i'd wish all those ported 640x480 games would do: Adjust the TV out.

Currently the game has a black border left and right on the devices screen. On TV out the different aspect ratio also adds a black top and bottom border. The image viewer seems to be able to adjust the TV out in such cases.

The game works fine and it's great but a few things: 1. The options menu is hard to read even with TV out. 2. A keyboard control option would be nice. 3. An explanation of all the options on what they actually do!

This is wonderful! David Olofson is a truly talented and dedicated designer. It now looks better than many commercial games.

BIG thanks to mikko for the port. Takes no space. Loads in a flash.

@Mustali: Yes, in perfect world I would do that, but since it's impossible to get any real power saving with pure SDL app I decided that it's better that power usage is obvious. But if you can point out some real problems with phone call, I can look into better pause mode.

It would be nice if the game suspended and took less CPU when thrown in the background via the task switcher. This would help conserve battery when a call comes in for example.

This version loads much faster, but you need to delete ~/.kobodlrc (if it exists) to enable the new feature
