A woodchuck daemon, a network monitor and data transfer manager.

The woodchuck daemon monitors the network and user-behavior to predict when to initiate transfer tasks.

Applications that are woodchuck enabled register streams (e.g., RSS feeds, EMail mailboxes) with woodchuck as well as their constiuent objects (e.g., PodCasts, EMails). When Woodchuck detects good network conditions, e.g., the device is attached to power and there is free WiFi, it predicts what data (of the registered objects) the user will likely need in the near future based on historical user behavior and user and applications hints, and initiates their transfer.

Keep track of your weight.

Use weightgraph to record your daily weights. It will plot a nice graph of the weights to help you keep up your weight control motivation.

A game clock for chess players

Chess Clock supports different time controls (time additions, delays, hour glass). Timers are adjustable and different time settings for white and black are possible.

Automatic download of subs from opensubtitles.org

Just point at any video file and choose the subtitles you need. Behind the scenes it's nautilus script, written by Carlos Acedo and ported to maemo by int_ua. This script can be executed from command line with a single argument - filename. And still should be usable on your desktop with python-gtk.

porting to maemo/n900 of pyOBD. pyOBD is an OBD-II (SAE-J1979) compliant scantool software written entirely in Python. It is meant to interface with the low cost ELM 32x devices such as ELM-BT.

pyOBD was written by Donour Sizemore, now maintained and improved by SECONS Ltd.i and it is Free Software and is distributed under the terms of the GPL. For Python devlopers, pyOBD provides a single module, obd_io, that allows high level control over sensor data and diagnostic trouble code managment.

magnifier and photo negatives viewer for the N900 using the main camera

Magnifier and viewer for photo negatives for the N900, it streams the video stream captured at close focus distance from the main camera to the screen. The magnification is somewhere between 3x and 4x (more than of the native camera app). As for the optical magnifiers, the distance to the object examined must be tuned until best sharpness is achieved. The viewer for negatives additionaly inverts the color of the video stream and makes the required changes of tint.

Recovery Console Mode Boot option

This package adds Recovery Mode boot option in Bootmenu. It starts emergency console in kernel framebuffer.

This package needs to install/flash kernel with framebuffer support (static linked into kernel or external module) which enable console output. Without this Reovery Console will not working.

Hercules is an open source software implementation of the mainframe System/370 and ESA/390 architectures, in addition to the new 64-bit z/Architecture. Hercules runs under Linux, Windows (98, NT, 2000, and XP), Solaris, FreeBSD, and Mac OS X (10.3 and later). Hercules is OSI Certified Open Source Software licensed under the terms of the Q Public Licence. Hercules was created by Roger Bowler and is maintained by Jay Maynard. Jan Jaeger designed and implemented many of the advanced features of Hercules, including dynamic reconfiguration, integrated console, interpretive execution and z/Architecture support. A dedicated crew of programmers is constantly at work implementing new features and fixing bugs. This application can only be executed from the command line, but you can install the HercUI wrapper for a simple UI.

Based on qTranslate, it has an easy-to-us interface. You can send your translation per E-Mail, SMS, or copy it to the clipboard.

Missed calls and SMS notifier.

Will display a small status bar icon for missed Calls and SMS. The icon will disappear after closing the yellow notification or viewing the SMS.

Command line utility for manipulating the maemo calendar.

key manager for OpenSSH

Keychain is an OpenSSH key manager, typically run from ~/.bash_profile. When keychain is run, it checks for a running ssh-agent, otherwise it starts one. It saves the ssh-agent environment variables to ~/.keychain/\${HOSTNAME}-sh, so that subsequent logins and non-interactive shells such as cron jobs can source the file and make passwordless ssh connections. In addition, when keychain runs, it verifies that the key files specified on the command-line are known to ssh-agent, otherwise it loads them, prompting you for a password if necessary.
