mksh is the a Bourne-compatible shell which is largely similar to the original AT&T Korn shell. It includes bug fixes and feature improvements, in order to produce a modern, robust shell good for interactive and especially script use. The code has been cleaned up and simplified, bugs fixed, standards compliance and UTF-8 support added, and several enhancements (for extended compatibility to other modern shells, as well as a couple of its own) have been added.

Slysics is a physics simulation game which involves the user drawing lines in which a figure then sleds or slides down. Keep in mind that simulations may not be completely similar and therefore require a robust track.

Browser Switchboard is a program which allows you to choose which web browser to use as the default browser on Maemo devices. It supports MicroB, Tear, Mobile Firefox, Opera Mobile, and Midori out of the box, and can also be used to launch MicroB without having browserd running.

Port of the dcraw program to Maemo tablets. dcraw is able to read numerous raw image formats produced by digital cameras. dcraw converts these images into the standard PPM and TIFF image formats.

dcraw allows you to process your RAW photos on the go, or to preview it by extracting its thumbnail.

Macuco is a lightweight specialized browser to google web apps. It was primarily developed to be a Gmail client, but you can use other google products with it too.

Currently, Gmail, Google Reader, Orkut, Google News and Google Docs (read-only) are reported to work well on Macuco.

iNES will run software written for Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Famicom videogame consoles. It also emulates Famicom Disk System, VS System, and other Famicom-based hardware and addons. Please make sure you own the actual cartridge or physical disk for every game you play.

A third-party plugin for the Pidgin multi-protocol instant messenger. It implements the extended version of SIP/SIMPLE used by various products:

• Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS 2007/2007R2 and newer)
• Microsoft Live Communications Server (LCS 2003/2005)
• Reuters Messaging

With this plugin you should be able to replace your Microsoft Office Communicator client with Pidgin.

Irssi is a terminal based IRC client for UNIX systems. It also supports SILC and ICB protocols via plugins. You can switch windows with ctrl+p or crtl+n or go on and create your own Bindings.

We’re proud to present the first preview build of Opera Mobile 10 for Nokia N8X0.

This Maemo version of Opera Mobile 10 was created as a hobby project by a small team of developers in their spare time. As such, it has not undergone our usual quality assurance processes, and at times may not feel as polished or complete as an official release. This also means that there may never be a “final” release of Opera Mobile 10 for Maemo devices, since it’s just that much more fun to add shiny new features rather than fixing boring old bugs.

There are a number of known issues with this build, listed below:

•Adobe Flash and other plugins are not supported.

•Screen tearing may be visible when panning, especially in portrait mode. We expect to fix this in a future update.

•The built-in on-screen keyboard is not supported. Use the physical keyboard or the on screen keyboard included with Opera Mobile.

•There is no power management support. In practice this means that if you open a page with animations and leave Opera running, you will soon be using a payphone. Power is drained even when Opera is running in the background and/or the screen is turned off.

•If you set Opera as the default browser, for example by installing the Browser Switchboard, an extra empty tab will get opened every time you open a link from an external application.

This is mobile version of Mnemosyne software. It resembles a traditional flash-card program to help you memorise question/answer pairs, but with an important twist: it uses a sophisticated algorithm to schedule the best time for an item to come up for review.
