Control usage of Tor (The Onion Router) to provide online anonymity

Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. The latest information about Tor can be found at https://www.torproject.org/.

This package installs a status area applet that can configure the current proxy settings to route traffic through the Tor network.

Remember that this is development code -- don't rely on the current Tor network if you really need strong anonymity.

Excellent work, but.. how is it handling .onion domains? I cannot see privoxy or anything simmilar installed. Is it working with external SOCKS proxy instead? (which will be hudge security hole :) )

I am using it since it was in testing.

pH5 suggested a way to edit the torrc files to specify exit nodes. I was able to get this to work. The process I followed is outlined in this thread:

What would be the best way of configuring Tor to use a specific country as an exit node?

(I looked through this thread and other sources for an answer, but could not find one)
