Labyrinth is a lightweight mind-mapping tool, written in Python using Gtk and Cairo to do the drawing. It is intended to be as light and intuitive as possible, but still provide a wide range of powerful features.

Changes in version 0.5.0-maemo.r7

  • N800 support - added popup text box for editing thoughts through virtual keyboard

Note: to use virtual keyboard with N800, you need to have an existing text thought before clicking 'Edit'.

To create a new, just click on any free place, then press Enter(big D-pad btn), then click on some other place to confirm the thought with empty text.

To be fixed next weekend.

Unfortunately there is no version for N900 for several reasons:

  • it's pretty difficult to re-design the interface of the tool to be finger-friendly.

  • the work on the original Labyrinth for Gnome has stopped.

  • N900's Maemo 5 is abandoned by Nokia so I decided to wait for Meego or for someone to make this port.

Is it possible to install labyrinth on a Nokia N900? If it is possible could someone explain how it is done?

Big thx for your help in advance!

Initially, the program wouldn't run at all despite a seemingly correct install - got help from author to solve it. On my machine (N810), python2.5-xml (a dependency) was missing, unfortunately it had to be installed from command line as the Application Manager was unable to install it. When that package was finally installed, labyrinth runs wonderfully, and I haven't noticed any problems in the first few attempts at using it.

Once the typing comes online along with different shapes, this app will be awesome. I love the ability to pull in images & resources. Great first effort.
