granule 1.4.0-8maemo0 is available from Extras-devel for testing.
Granule is a Leitner flashcards program. It runs on Nokia Internet Tablet as well as on Linux and Windows desktops and GPE-based PDAs.
A new UI design for the Deck Player dialog. Support for full-screen mode with touch-screen navigation for the Nokia IT N8x0. Robust audio support for the Win32 desktop. Full SM-2 algorithm implementation.
Lucasz: Nokia hasn't sponsored a n900 device for development for me so I don't have the actual device to test it on. Thus, lack of interest. But, I will build 1.4.0 for it to let others test and report bugs. The most obvious incompatibility issue would be screen-geometry related as n900 has slightly less real estate.
For a university research I compared more than 50 flashcard-programs on almost every system, the program I liked most was granule. A wonderful feature is the ability to mark text with attributes like bold, italic, you can define colors and even change the font size and family for single words.
This program was the main reason I bought a N770 and when version 1.3 was not supported anymore I got a N800 to be able to use granule again.
The actual release (1.4.0-7) makes it almost perfect as it now supports full-screen mode!
The dependency issues have been resolved - "Click to install" download method works now as expected.
To adjust application text font size, go to File->Preferences->Appearance and change 'Application Font' to something like 'Sans 13'.
To turn off both Auto-Capitalization and 'Word Completion' features, open Control Panel, select Text_input_settings->Languages->Settings, and unselect all entries. Doing so also takes care of DeckPlayer distortion reported by a number of people, although, in a long run, the plan is to change UI to better integrate with N810 hardware keyboard.
My upload of libassa debian packages did not work. I still have to figure out why. Meanwhile, the workaround can be found on Granule Download page: http://granule.sourceforge.net/grapp_download.html
hope this help
I can't get this to install on an N800 with OS2008. It seems to want libassa, but I can't find that lib in any of the repos. I tried to install a version of libassa from OS2007, but that didn't work either. I really like this program, I'd love to get it rinning on my N800.
