I'm a Vim lover, but when launching from the terminal and not with the menu launcher, Vim doesn't show colours as defined in my .vimrc file.

Powerful console text editor
One of the most powerful text editors in existence, vim is "Vi-Improved". . This package contains the command line version only, and so should be used inside X Terminal; although a launcher icon is provided.

Maemo comes with 'vi' out of the box, but it's a very limited busybox vi.
