Hi, can I run .jar file after installing this apps... specially games in .jar format
The IcedTea6 version of the OpenJDK(TM)
In short, this package installs a free version of the Java(TM) 6 programming language runtime and development kit. The development kit and runtime are, on their own, typically operated from the command line.
Versions >= 1.8.x have been extracted from Debian OpenJDK packages and were repackaged for optification.
Versions 1.5.x were packaged from the binaries from "http://camswl.com".

With this fantastic app you can run many desktop applications written with Java SE plus many mobile applications written with Java ME (through microemulator).
@A. H. Essentially, yes. ;)
@Roy Well this package, in a nutshell, installs the OpenJDK Java JDK and JRE. Basically, you can use this like any Java JDK/JRE.
For more details and discussion there is also a corresponding thread on talk: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=51871
Forgive my ignorance but does this mean I can run standard Java applications if I install this Package?
thanks! is there a wiki anywhere or a readme that explains how to use this?
