Display graphical information about wireless networks
WifiEye is a program that scans for available wireless networks and displays them in a nice way. It is mostly a clone of wifi-analyzer, an excellent app for android phones.
Currently it has three views: * Channel view: Show channel overlaps * Time graph: Show wireless strength over time * Detail view: Show details for available wireless networks

Get rid of the buttons, move them to menu or let the user pan left/right and provide some feedback when refreshing network information instead of having black screen and its perfect!
Excellent! Usability idea: Instead of button for different views, could it be e.g. scrollable to left/right with finger?
This is a fun app that provides all the info you need about the WiFi networks in the area. The presentation is very nice too.
To me, this may be the most useful app for the N900. Great work!
Thank you for your comments.
However, I have to mention that the whole idea is not mine: Wifieye is a clone of "Wifi Analyzer" which is available for Android phones. I really liked that program when a friend of mine showed it, so I just made wifieye. The only genuine thing is the list view because it can show the signal of each AP, even when there are multiple APs for the same ESSID. That was something I needed in order to test the wireless coverage at a place. The eye-candies of list-view are also genuine.
Great and innovative idea Really cool app

Awesome! It is apps like that, that make me love my N900 more and more each day. Keep up the good work!
Great application, thanks for you effort. The channel spread view is especially good. It is so hard to measure and visualise that when trying to work out where to put your wifi channel in a crowded area - this is extremely useful for that.

Most of the requested things cannot be easily done without Qt4.6 (finger movement, portrait mode), so I'm waiting for PR1.2.
The wireless security is not easily determined because the program uses python-wifi which doesn't support that and completely discards the security-related information. It is WIP but it is not easy to accomplish it since there is no appropriate library available.
Moving buttons to menu is not a good choice IMO. There is not much use for the empty space and it will complicate user interaction. However, I'm all ears if you believe that I'm wrong.
Scanning takes <2 seconds and a button is already grayed when this is done. However, I'll have the "busy" feedback in mind for the next version.
