I'm the author of this program and am glad you like it!

Concerning the white vs transparent background: I had assumed that the background is always white because the builtin logos use a white background. It must break in a third-party theme.

Additionally, it is really hard to find transparent logos -- almost all of them are white-backgrounded jpg's, which is really hard to work with.

But, because of this issue, I will definitely try to find more transparent logos.

Very happy with this package. It works as it was designed to. Very simple. My only issue is that the author assumes the menu behind the icons will always be white, which isn't the case with some themes. The white portions of the icons for each search engine should be made transparent instead.
