Just thought I'd say thanks for this great app. I use it a lot.
I had a problem which may happen to any noob like me, after installation after opening the widget when I was trying to send a text to for example Yahoo ID, it was showing me no accounts! it grounded me very badly. Finally and accidentally I signed out and disabled all of my yahoo, gmail and sky accounts on phone then I signed back to yahoo then ...... all my friends IM was there! I did many times installation then uninstallation but it didn't help before. So in case of this happening may be the way to fix is signing out all, then some in and.... thank u tomas
absolutely essential - that good it should be built-in. only whine: I know screen limitations put a limit on the number of mail accounts displayed but it surely it could show more accounts if it hid the accounts where all mail had been read. Do not get me wrong still phab!
A must have Apps on N900... Very Useful....Best App.
Seems very interesting!, I wish I could enjoy it on diablo...
I need help to install "Conversations Inbox Desktop Widget V1.1.1". when i try to install, it shows some problem (librtcom-eventlogger missing). i used to use old version of Conversations Inbox Desktop Widget in my another n900, but in my new phone i even don't have any option for old version. Someone please help.
That's very needy. also I would like to change the look of it, just to make it match my themes. Anybody know how to do that ? I can't find *.png corresponding to this widget anywhere on the device...
@Artem I know I can mark them as read as I go through each one, but what I am asking for is a way to delete them directly from the Conversations Inbox Desktop Widget instead of having to go into the Conversations app and manually flag a bunch of txt messages that I have already read in your cool widget.
Also, slightly larger buttons would be nice too ;)
:)
:)
I give it 5, solved my problem for viewing.nice to have it as a widget compare to other widgets. Ty
Perfection in the making.
For those that want to restore the widget to their desktop, the PR1.2 compatable application is in the Extras-Devel application library Although this isn't fully tested, I am yet to experience any issues/bugs with the updated application.
It still doesn't show up in widgets for PR1.2. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, powered off/on, no go.
THE ONLY SIMPLE THING U SHOUD DO TO HAVE THE WIDGET BACK: I am so happy after lot of unuseful searching finally i found the version 1.1.1 of conversations inbox widget which works after all other upgrading. simply go to this page: http://maemo.org/packages/package_instance/view/fremantle_extras-devel_free_armel/conversations-inbox-widget/1.1.1/ tap the
( conversasations-inbox-widget-1.1.1_armel.deb) It is almost at the bottom of firt rectangel texts after size and MD5sum, then u will have the upgrade! easy but took 3 days of me as an amature even after mailing & mailing the producer. I wrote this to make amatures like me happy, do not forget smile! haha bravo
Why is there no update for this fantastic app? It stopped Working on the new PR 1.2 Update.
a real useful app!
but where can i find the vers 1.1.1?
THX
PR1.2-compatible version 1.1.1 is available for now in extras-devel/extras-testing.
Hello,
I used to use this widget a lot in PR 1.1 but it doesn't work in PR 1.2
Hi, very nice thingie, but can it be that I am not able to add this widget anymore with PR 1.2?
@Willem, @Bill, the indicator of unread messages in the bottom left corner is a button to mark the current message as read. Its sensitive area is bigger than visual, so it should be quite finger friendly. It's not evident, but it's there :-)
I really like the look and usefulness of this widget.
I have a suggestion for a new feature:
In the bottom left corner, you show the number of unread SMS messages, and the time of the current one is displayed in the bottom right.
I get a lot of text messages from my network monitoring server and it would be nice to be able to read them and delete them directly from the desktop widget.
Currently I see them in the widget, then I need to go to the actual list and delete them all manually.
I think that adding another button at the bottom of the widget to delete message would be a great feature.
Also making the "count/read message" and hopefully new "delete message" buttons a little larger would be great too since I rarely use the stylus.

Nice app mate. Greate job.
Nice to be able to read my last message, but it would be even better if there was a way to scroll through all new messages. Now I'll have to open the conversations application in order to read my other new messages.
Nice app. Thank you
Very nice app. Thanks.
Artim, this is a beautifull applikatie; thanks.
Very usable, thank you!
After the latest update this is a really good app!
Hello, Artem, the applications is nice, just some comments, you have SMS Icon and then 2(7) and IM 3(6), I wondering if wil be nice to show how many SMS or IM you have it un-read and then the other info. Will be really nice something like that SMS Icon: New 3. Conversations 5. Total 23
And the same for the IM, in that way will be really nice.
Thanks
I can't ask for more. With the latest release this app does all that I want and more.
nice app.
very good
it will be better if it works like a pop up, it will appear on desktop only if you receive a sms, and when you have read or answered, the window disappear... what do you think ?
installed, verified as 'not useful', removed
Very handy!
@Tom, the widget still shows unread messages (along with sender's avatar and presence :) ), if you belive there is a problem, please, report the bug with the steps to reproduce it. Of course, if the corresponding conversation is open, the widget shows nothing (but than there are no system notifications as well)
Before the recent update, this was useful, as it showed the message body. After the update, it doesn't look like the screen shot at all and just has two meaningless numbers for each of IM and SMS (I think it's "number of conversations I've read but not delated" for the first number, not idea about the second). I strongly suggest it needs reverting.
Cool app. Does what I expect it to and makes life a bit easier.
Great widget. Stable and useful.
when i click on any of the messages it goes to the next message until the screen says "no messages" and the new message icon still appears in the top left
ive tried updating this app as i thought that had all been fixed but it cant find any new updates
i like the idea but currently doesnt feel that useful to me?
Great, keep them updates and new features coming :)
Ates, it's a known problem that hildon-home may restart in a safe mode (with 3rd party widgets disabled) during widget's installation (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8895). If it happened, add your widgets back to the desktop via the desktop menu.
I was using it since it's first release. But yesterday after I download the new update, it erased all my desktop widgets including Foreca, Personal Data Plan and Personal Picture Frame. I tried re-downloading but same problem. Now it doesn't show on the screen eventhough I can see it in downloaded folder.
Nice widget. Only thing missing is resizing option.
Good, now that the message number thingy has been fixed with the latest update so that when conversations are cleared it goes back to zero.
Please, leave the feedback for the testing/development version in http://maemo.org/packages/package_instance/view/fremantle_extras-testing_free_armel/conversations-inbox-widget/1.0.0/. You can find the changelog there as well.
I also wonder what the numbers are, and how to get rid of them (I not interested how many messages I've not deleted). In that respect I don't see how 0.1.0 is an improvement on the previous version. Otherwise very nice tool.
very useful !!
This is definitely a widget that should be included by default with every N900. Simple, does the job, works as expected.
I don't understand the numbers that appear in the widget since the latest version. If it's a kind of counter, I do not understand what it counts. When I delete all my messages, the counter keeps giving the same (incorrect) numbers.
This is a pretty good app. I use it on a daily basis! My comments are the same as others: 1. Ability to open the message from the widgit 2. The blinking blue indicator light should turn off when you dismiss messages from the widgit. Currently, it will only go off if you open Conversations or just never have it on in Settings.
Very nice and it would be even better if tapping it would open the conversation app.
works fine. As crazy as it sounds... there are hours in a row in a day my N900 is asleep. Nice when I wake it (rudely) in one look I see who missed me. Nice.
Useful widget.
Please consider a "dismiss all"/"clear" button.
Very useful widget. If we could disable notifications (NOKIA defaults) one would be perfect. So we don't both.
it's already a must-have app imho. few things already mentioned would make this even better. ;)
Useful and yeah, the jusmp to the clicked conversation would make it great.
Very good. I to wish for it to jump to the message that is clicked.
Great start. I have a feeling that it will improve over time as will my rating for it. Thank you to the developer for their hard work!
Useful for quick peeks, but would be even better if it had a separate 'mark seen' button and the default action would be open conversation, as suggested before me.
Very useful widget. Some improvements I would love to see:
//j
it would be great for the text to disappear after reading it inside conversations
This is more useful for the IM, i don't find it very handy wiht SMS
Very handy. I third the request for it to jump to the relevant conversation when clicked.
Would be great if you tapped the message and instead of disapearing it opened up the conversation / IM Screen. But over all Good.
I like it but I wish it would wake up the screen when a message comes in. Also would be nice to be able to respond in that window also.
for sms i like the built in conversation mode more, but for IM it's nice to have :)
