YouAmp is a small and fast music player inspired by rhythmbox. It is meant as an alternative to the spiffy UI centric players like UKMP or Canola and thus it concentrates on the playback capabilities.

Features:

  • Replaygain Support
  • smart Replaygain mode selection
  • mp3, ogg, wmb, m4a playback
  • Searchable database
  • last.fm submission
  • Music browser

Slow and steady wins the race. :)

As the various tablet media players developed iYouAmp did not emphasize cover flow as most of the others seemed to do. As a result I was lured away by that promised dazle.

While I was gone YouAmp concentrated on play back features and developed an internal search engine that allows a user to build spontaneous random play lists from a large collection. You can just type in a single word and the search engine will pull up all songs that contain an instance of that word in the songs descriptors. Most of the time I will plug in random words just to see what the search will come up with. Pretty cool.

I am hoping to see a gapless playback feature at some point in YouAmp's future.

Just what I was looking for: nothing flashy, but working well (even better than the competition) and doing things as I would do them.

I finally found my player.

Repository installs 0.3.0-2 even after I dump all the Misspelled multiple catalogue entries and load a new one for maemo extras by pressing this green arrow install. This old version also does not update from app manager...

where is the new deb stored to bypass this error?

great app thanks...
