Cumulus for OS2008 is also contained in the Diablo Extras non-free armel repository since 01. December 2010. So you can install it by using the package manager of your tablet. It is also a German language package available now.

RE: IGC log

The IGC log is not certified because cumulus is an open source project and so we cannot provide closed parts for the calculation of the security record.

Re. batteries:

Some people did use glider batteries with a voltage adaptor. I personally use a separate battery pack of four standard NiMH baby cells (4x4.5 Wh) which add up to 4.8 V and but give a little more when freshly charged. Put in a soft bag with some padding, it easily fits behind the seat (I use only club gliders). Gives me almost 16 hours with the internal GPS (N810).

Have you managed to somehow connect maemo devices to gliders battery for longer flights?

The IGC log is certified? To be more specific, if i load the track on www.xcontest.org can I partecipate at the contest?

Odds are I will never be able to try this out, but in my opinion this is a really cool application and truly highlights what the Maemo experience is all about.
