Just copied, modified (just made all fonts smaller) and repacked skins from the original OS 2006! Simply download, install and select in the Thememanager. These themes also work on the n800.

Wouldn't it be cool if the font sizes for IT themes were user-configurable from inside the environment?
Since they're not, this is a solution.
There are a few weird little design flaws, but overall these themes will get you some smaller fonts and a lot more room on your desktop.
