Python2.5 for Maemo - [PyMaemo] vc1.0-3

I think that in new OS releases, pymaemo should come natively installed in the device. Good Effort, thanks!

Lousy installation support for N800/Maemo. :-(

It's an important part of my tools on N800. Not a full python as on PC, but it's enough for developement and most of other packages can be found in repositories. Also it can be used as powerful calculator: $ python >> from math import *

Obviously sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

For me the install file failed, but apt-get install python2.5-runtime did the trick, after a few warnings (packages cannot be authenticated)

For info I had a working python before (probably installed along canola or ukmp). I installed this one to get PyGTKEditor, which now works. And it is cool.

This is, of course, a must-have for any maemo user. Any app that needs Python, needs this. And, from my experience, it installs and works just fine in OS2008.

I'm getting the message that the file is corrupted arond 80% of the way done. I've tried many times with the same results.

Still not hildon-desktop binding.

Mine works fine. This is one of the only ways to do development directly on the tablet. Python has a lot available to it and is a scripting language (iPython is a good add-on also, as is Ruby).

Same on N800 with the new OS2008 release

Corrupted file and/or slow repository makes this application impossible to install on a N810.
