Gringotts is a small utility for Linux and other unices that allows you to jot down sensitive data (passwords, credit card numbers, PINs, friends' addresses) in an easy-to-read, easy-to-access, and most of all very secure form. For encryptions, Gringotts makes use of the libGringotts library, that is based upon libMCrypt and MHash by Nikos Mavroyanopoulos; in addition, it uses GTK+ 2 for the interface.

It didn't work for me on my N810. After allowing it to add a repository and install, the start icon did nothing. From a terminal, running it showed that it wanted the libgringotts package, so I apt-got that. Still nothing, the terminal showed that it wanted a libcrypt... package. I tried installing that but it wasn't found. I gave up and rolled it back; not worth the effort at this point. Oh well, maybe the next release will have the dependencies worked out.
The original author of Gringotts and libgringotts is Germano Rizzo, but those products are currently maintained by Shlomi Fish (see Homepage for detail).
The Maemo port of Gringotts is currently at its early stage, but feedback is welcome!
