About as good as it gets in OS2008, but as others mention, it has problems w/ syncronization. It also lacks some fields, like anniversary that could enter a reminder into calendar, and there is no add field option. The built in contacts is substantially more limited, and GPE Contacts is usable and has a decent UI.

I will also state that it is a good application as a contact database. The import/export is the killer problem, as also stated.

It does not seem able to import a .vcf from a Palm Pilot transferred over Bluetooth. There is also no way to send a contact over Bluetooth, or export to a file so that it could be emailed.

As others also commented the synchronisation is not existent and the import/export are painful.

I use it only because PhoneLink and ContactInfos can make use of its DB.

I like GPE Contacts very much. The UI is very good. Good usability. The only thing I miss is the export functionality. I would like to export a single or all contacts into a pdf or html file. Export into csv or other spreadsheet format would be very nice, also.

I use GPE Contacts everyday to store my contacts. The software could be improved in some ways but is already pretty good. I'm missing a reliable 2-way synchronisation with a desktop PC, but on can still copy the ~/.gpe from his NIT to his PC (and back). I automated this with rsync.
