Thanks man, a must-have app.
A great widget - that does its job superbly. Essential.
Great widget
I encounterd a bug, though. Trying to edit a custom search engine, the screen froze on hitting "OK". Had to lock/unlock to get back to destop, after which the custom engine was completely gone and I had to enter it anew.
Is that known behaviour or should I enter a bug report? Couldn't find anything there.
For me still the best search app on my N900, thnx again.
the latest version is just great!!!
My bad!
TouchSearch v2.2-2 still allows the user to install and use their own search engines.
I just was so saddened by the devel-version not allowing this that I had to comment on it.
Used to be a good app. but since the latest update it's no longer possible to add your own search engines (and the ones you already had installed were deleted) so now it's pretty useless.
works great, saves me so much time when i wanna do price checks online
Two wishes: ++ For user extensions allow text instead of a search engine icon. ++ Have the search extended to bus/train/etc. schedules. This typically would need 2 entry fields (from/to) and automatic insertion of current date and time (4 search elements in total).
great app! not sure if its implemented by now, but if not i'd love to be able to choose if i want to open google etc in firefox or in the built-in browser! keep up good work!
A must have. I only miss the possibility to put more than once instance on the desktop, but it's an issue related to hildon-desktop, not the widget itself.
Great app all and all, but editing search engines doesn't seem to work.. It did work prior to the last update but now it doesn't.. Bug?
Works well
Thanks for the great app!
It's a great app! Just that I feel Bing should also be added to the search engines by default.
I love this app. Makes having a web shortcut unnecessary. Thank you!
Nice App
Very good features and very useful widget! The custom search doesn't sound too nice, though. One bug: When you scroll your desktop by starting from the + icon of this widget, the search option menu appears on the new desktop after the slide transition.
Great widget, but the usability is compromised a lot due to the default search being a custom google-page full of ads. If the developer is expecting to have a revenue, that's fine, but it's frustrating to be blocked when trying to edit the google search.
That's my only feature request (meanwhile, hacking the ~/.touchsearch/search_engines.data works fine).
I use this app every day and i think its great. It would be even better if i could have it on powerbutton menu for extrafast access.
The search function is fine. At the moment the aplication which i downloaded have only the window touch search option no way to find touch search options settings and configure search engine . i use a n900 with german language
It's a wonderful idea to have such quick search access but google's customized link is a weak attempt at making a revenue. I'd rather paypal the developer than use a 300 characters customized search link that who knows what does besides it's ad value, might be even cataloged.
I like this widget but I would like to customize the Google Search URL also as I prefer search results from google.de over google.com The Logo uploader does not allow to use an already installed internal image.
Great widget. Would be nice to be able to change google's custom search to the standard one but that's no deal breaker by any mean. Can always add another one :-)
fan of widgets? get it right now! no fan? also get it! google search at the desktop rocks!
A much needed app to replace the "Internet Search" app that was included by Nokia in older devices.
The next version will allow user defined custom searches. Great.
Very handy, use it all the time. Nice that you can choose to search oter places than google...
It's cool, but using custom search in google without any notifications is inappropriate behavior, I think.
I don't see anything wrong in this method of making money by the author, but in this case this behavior must be mentioned in description, I think.
1.3-2 failed to show up on desktop after first install, but uninstalling and reinstalling helped.
Works ok, though I don't like Google being custom search instead of normal search.
One of the best widgets for me, and this update adds some great features.
Outstanding! Thanks for adding the return key fix! This should widget should come loaded standard. Thank you.

I would also love to see some alternative sources like Wikipedia / Creative Commons / etc.
I love this widget. One feature request I have is the ability to add multiple instances of this widget. That way I can have a Google, Wikipedia, and Dictionary box ready to be searched in 1 click.

Great widget. I have two feature requests though :)
This is a great widget and I use it daily.
My one suggestion is to allow the [return] key submit the query. With your thumbs already on the keypad it makes the process more streamlined.
And thanks again for such a great app.
Very useful little widget.
@Percy: See http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=33349 for info on what is planned.
Are there any plans to make the search options customizable?
Or is there already a config file that I could edit?
Thanks for this useful widget! :-)
