SYMPHONY is a very good directory based player ,I really want to give thanks to all developers who made this player, but when iplay this player a song the cpu is going rising high
high use of CPU when the equalizer is activated, but i like it
Kudos for this great player! - I like the autoresume function - i like the directory-structure - FLAC support... (nice) - Changing the font size - Seek function over the whole width of the screen
What I would like: The equalizer: I have to scroll to the right to see the whole equalizer? And I would like to see some presets... The screen shows one icon of which I don't know it's function: it's the icon most to the right (looks like the letter 'a' formed out of two boomerangs)... I know this icon from photoshop, meaning to crop a picture...
I hate the media player on my phone as i have lots of folders with music from different albums etc... this app is awsome my friend! Apart from not playing in silent mode its perfect for me thanks alot!
Thank you!
At last, a player without playlists! Just directories!
best music player so far
This application is awesome. Finally I'm enjoying listening some music on the N900. There are a lots of improvements since the 0.1 I tried and abandoned earlier, but still some stuff to do. Hope my opinion below can help.
+++ Equalizer 10 band (I love you for this) +++ Folder based playing +++ Flac support ++ File Types ++ Portrait mode ++ Light to use + Integrated Sleep Timer + Possibility to change the font type
--- No support for APE --- Audio click or when the N900 screen switches off or sometimes doing nothing (I need to do some more tests) --- No possibility to delete songs (if you can't do it, my apologies) --- No possibility to create play-lists --- Quite heavy when equalizer On. -- Audio click when changing to previous/next track (a micro fade would be appreciated) -- No support for album cover -- Once the song is playing for 30sec we could have a nicer view with the actual song, his cover, artist, album, title... -- The "random" functionality does not seem to work for me -- The audio level (from the integrated functionality) is not corresponding to the N900 level. This could be a good thing but when you put the maximum level you don't reach the maximum of the N900 which is quite annoying. - EQ: the 29Hz setting seems to be inverted (anyway I need to change my ears) - When you navigate to a folder, sometimes you find yourself of the middle of it instead of the top (Don't know it's clear) - A little bug with bottom functionality when changing from Portrait to Landscape mode. - Maybe a 0.5ms fade out when pausing a song... - It will be nice to have a logo for your application :)
Sorry if there are more negative points than positive, but the overall rating and long comment show my support and encouragement for this application. Nice Work!
I just want this app to understand my *.flac files, default player can do this.
Great app, playing by folder is all I wanted (mp3 tags are just too bad).
The equalizer is great, but beware that it uses a lot of CPU.
This is the default player on my device.
Thanks for all the feedbacks. This is the first release of the application, thus there are certainly rooms for improvement. I'll consider each of your feedbacks and implement them to the application in the future. Of course, it depends on how much free time I have. Keep commenting, let's make this app better.
I really appreciate the application because I prefer folder use for media. As of today (7-2-10) some things make it difficult to use. When on the silent profile music will not play. I listen a lot at work and can't have my phone ringing. So this program is out. Font (like about every other player) is mysteriously small. Why will no one make a large font media player for car navigation? Also, when lying flat the rotation always reverts to landscape (under auto) no matter how it is laid down. And it starts playing whatever song you last played when you open it. Could be embarrasing.
For the past 10 years I have converted my music from CD to MP3 and stored the music in folders by genre, artist, then album. It as always made sense to me. Imagine my annoyance when I got the N900, put my 40Gb of music on it (32Gb miscroSD) and couldn't access it correctly. In the end I made playlists of every folder, every album. This took time.
I applaud Mr Tham for filling this functionality gap.
(I know MediaBox can do it too, but it's buggy)
Exactly the player i need! If you are looking into additional features one thing i'd like would be a button to turn fm transmitter on and off ( with different color or icon or text) so i'll be able to see it in noisy environments (in the car), the feature could be optionally turned on from the option menu, i.e. to replace the current leftmost button. Thanks for this grear app.
This is a wonderfull application. I like it.
Man, I love you for this app. But it seems that it drains CPU harder than mplayer with equalizer. There is also some "bugs" in UI, but the app is awsome anyway. Keep doing good work.
I like this app, but.... Is there any way to disable the resuming playback feature, or could that be implemented in the future?
