Enable root access, via the "sudo gainroot" command
"sudo gainroot" will work without requiring you to enable R&D mode.

There have been several more-or-less user-friendly schemes over the years to allow root access In Maemo... this one, which appeared I think in Maemo4, is the simplest and easiest to date. Anyone who uses xterm should have it !

Not sure why you need this? The OpenSSH package installs SSH and forces a root password change. When you SSH in you can get root that way. This may be useful for local (xterm) usage, but you could always ssh to localhost for that too?
Nice idea. Just don't think it's needed for the N900.

Makes life so much easier, no need to flash developer mode on.
easy root access, just a must have.
Essential and excellent that it's so easy to install.
must-have for making the N900 your own.
Being root without jailbreaking your device is really good :)
