A MIDI remote controller via UDP/IP multicast
A MIDI remote controller application that sends MIDI data over the network, using UDP/IP multicast. Inspired by multimidicast (http://llg.cubic.org/tools) and designed to be compatible with ipMIDI for Windows (http://nerds.de).

QmidiCtl is a MIDI remote controller for your DAW (digital audio workstation). It was designed to work primarily with yours truly Qtractor (http://qtractor.sourceforge.net) but it can be freely adapted to work with any other MIDI controlled DAW eg. Ardour (http://ardour.org).
QmidiCtl sends and receives MIDI data via UDP/IP multicast, so that it is only suitable to be used over an class C LAN. Of course, it is made to use the wifi/wireless interface of your maemo handheld eg. Nokia N900.
On the back-end computer, where your DAW is located, you should run QmidiNet as the MIDI over UDP/IP gateway (http://qmidinet.sourceforge.net) or midimulticast (http://llg.cubic.org/tools). As said it is also made compatible with ipMIDI for Windows (http://nerds.de) so QmidiCtl is not exclusive to Linux sound & music production studios :)
