Password Safe is a tool that allows you to have a different password for all the different programs and websites that you deal with, without actually having to remember all those usernames and passwords.

PasswordSafe is compatible with the other versions of passwordSafe (java, windows or android). It supports 1.x and 2.x file formats. So I suppose the easiest way for you would be to use a more featurefull desktop version of passwordSafe and generate a 2.x format file ... Fred

The osso-icons-default package has messed up stock icons symlinks.

enter as root:

Code:

mv /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/mimetypes/gtk-* /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon/

..and it will be solved.

Usefull app, but I would need a way to cop also a third item like account numer or second identifier. This could be part of the comment area in the app.

It's a good application. It could be nice if it could sync with Ubuntu One or another cloud service, so that one can update and browse his password on every machine.

Big help for me as I want a solution that works on my desktop PC and N900. Now the bugs are fixed (many thanks for that!), I can export from PC and read on my N900. Whilst I agree there could be improvements (eg more flexible fields), I guess it is limited by the need to work with the PC version.

@Jarmo : it is quite straight forward : 2 windows. 1/ starts PWsafe 2/ add an entry (with group username ...) 3/ s

Good. UI could be improved, but functionally all there.

@Vesel : Don't hesitate to fill an enhancement request in https://bugs.maemo.org/ At the moment, I use GTK_STOCK_DIRECTORY and GTK_STOCK_FILE ... I suppose it would be easy enough to change those for another GTK_STOCK*

Bravo! I like it :) Is it possible the folder icons to be in a different colour or to have a different icons in the next version? (if you have a new ver.) Very stable app. All my pass are in it and I'm sure that they are on safe place :o)

I think you missed a few updates : * You can now open 1.x and 2.x password file from desktop apps. * You can also import XML files from FPM2 or KeePassX

If you want some enhancement why not ask for them in bugs.maemo.org (like new import format) ?

Am still looking for ability to store my passwords more elegant. Password Safe has several disadvantages which make it not best choice for me (even there is no better solution at the moment): * viewing an item and going back displays the main screen with all categories folded * when running in background and the device goes to sleep and gets waked up several times Password Safe seems to offer me the initial password-dialog (for opening the file) as many times as the device went asleep. I found out that entering the password one time and then tipping abvoe the password field bypasses the repeated dialog and even though opens the password file. But it has to be entered correctly at least one time, therefore no security hole. * there are too few possibilities to categorize or distinct similar entries * at least: no option for importing passwords. Makes it quite useless for me as the lists already exist and I will not type them in again.

I would say it is useful but far from perfection. I was trying to use Password Safe and pySafe, so honestly I found the second one much more simple and user friendly. Additionally you can download files from Symbian s60v3 Handy Safe.

Absolutely love it. This was one of the first applications I installed, and it has worked flawlessly on my N900. It is comforting to know that if my device were lost/stolen, the data saved in this database would be seriously inconvenient for the bad guys to use against me and those I care about. Many thanks for taking the time to develop this useful application!

I thought it was quite straightforward. What kind of help would you like ? when starting pwsafe you can save your file and add new entries ...

Import is the more requested feature in b.m.o so it will happen :) the web integration is already there : url (starting with http or www.) are recognised and underlined and the browser is started upon click Fred

Good: idea, optimized for screen. Bad: Absent import passwords from other programs, Absent integration with browser. For me completely not useful because I don't want to manually transfer around 100 passwords....
