Mobile HotSpot v0.3.4

Great effort right here. worked for about a day and then i got t mobile telling me i had to pay 15 dollars extra a month for tethering. and depending on how much i tether my data plan will be affect and that i am also only limited to 5 connections.. I was pissed. almost wants to make me get off t_craphole. but this is still a sweet sweet app.. keeping it on my device just incase i do leave t-mobile.

Not all devices support connecting to Ad-Hoc -mode networks (and N900 cannot create infrastructure-mode network due to limitations of the firmware on the wifi-chip [we can't change the firmware])

Great! Like the USB mode which doesn't heat the N900 up so much. Can only use the internet through the N900 for the next month, so you saved me! :)

Nice work, this app works very well. There is scope for improvement (IP config settings and WPA would be nice), but if nothing changed it would still be okay. I'm actually commenting via an N900 mobile hotspot with created with this app!

Using this since it was in extras-devel. There are still few bugs and I'm not using it regulary, but still my favourite app. It was great when my friend bringed an iPad with wifi-only and I could create the wifi access point in less than 20 seconds :P

It should not affect BT-DUN in any shape or form, in theory it is faster (in practice probably your HSDPA connection speed is the limiting factor) and it allows sharing of the connection to multiple devices (no arbitrary limit, practical limits have not yet been explored).

Does this app affect the bluetooth DUN i installed in my N900? is this app better than bluetooth DUN in term of speed bandwidth? Thanks,

can you provide more information (ie: specs) on what potential custom kernel may be installed with this?

Basically a kernel that provides "kernel-feature-netfilter" (this is what the mobilehotspot package depends on), at this time the only packaged kernel that does is Titans kernel-power (http://wiki.maemo.org/Kernel_Power)
