@Ed Page:
i have a problem with installing the latest version 1.1.5-0 where it says "conflict with application packages : pyside-qt4-core(<0.4.2-lmaemo8), libpyside0.4, pyside-qt4-gui(<0.4.2-lmaemo8).
The previous version worked perfectly, so i don't understand it. Can U or someone help me !!
Hi Ed, could you add gravity as a unit to acceleration. I often use this unit and calculating it from mm/s^2 to g's is a pain. Hope that more people would be pleased with this feature - vehicle safety engineers would be. Thank you for your work.
I just installed this app again and I'm upgrading my original rating as I feel the user interface has been polished a great deal. I now find this application much easier to use. Thanks Ed.
Hi.
The shoes size units incorrect, example from centimeter to women uk, 25cm is uk women size 7.But is it 5 or 5 and half because the 6 is too big.Just a little help for make the great application better. :)
It's an excellent application in that it is extremely comprehensive and perhaps technical and covers absolutely everything.
My only criticism is that it's strength is also it's weakness as it can be a little complicated for the average person.
For example, I wanted to convert my weight from Stone to Pounds. The first problem was I couldn't find the category 'Weight'. I looked through the available categories and realised it was 'Mass' that I was after which is of course the correct term, but the average person will not be so technical and will look for 'Weight'.
The second problem I encountered was that I had too many options. I only know Stone and Pounds, so when confronted with Stone (butchers), Stone (cheese), Stone (glass), Stone (hemp) and Stone (legal) I had no idea which to choose. The same occurred with Pound - is it Pound (avoirdupois) or Pound (troy)? Also, I can't imagine ever wanting to convert to Pala, Okla, Obolos, Hyl, Crith, and many others which I've never heard of before in my life and which make the list so very long!
So, can I suggest an improvement? Can you please, please include an option (a simple toggle) to display only the common units that the average person is aware of? I would like to be able to choose Stone, Pounds, foot, mile, celsius, fahrenheit, day, year, and more without being given variations of each which I have no idea about. Which one is the 'standard' that we all use in our everyday lives? I really don't know. If you could add this option I would give it 5 stars.
You could also perhaps go a little further and add an option to allow the user to add or remove units and thus customise this shortened list with the units most frequently used. This would complete it. :-)
This is cool, but I would like to see some UI improvements to make it more finger-friendly. I find it difficult to scroll through the list of conversion ratios.
Also, I think you could make it easier for the average user by having prompts that say "You have:" and "You want:" like the GNU "Units" program.

Hi Ed, thank you for the answer. I would never guess that free fall is in gravitation units...
@Lukasz Slotwinski
I think Gonvert does have g's but they are just oddly named "free fall" with a unit of "gn".

@John Kolano
Any details on what that error might be? I think if you go into the details tab it might be a bit more concrete which would help me in resolving this.
Thanks
I keep getting an error when trying to download the new version. I ended up uninstalling the old version but I still couldn't download it.
Very thorough and useful, simplified mode should be available for everyday use.
Nice application, maybe too complex
Thanks Ed
I look forward to an updated version. :-)
@garbuckle
I've filed two enhancement requests for you

seriously! this even does shoe sizes!
Cool!!! Amazingly thorough
Useful~
@Roger Feese
Is finger scroll mostly what you want for finger friendliness?
As for "You have" and "You want" I'm mixed.
Could we talk about this more on t.m.o? http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=34403
