Says early release, but works fine. Needs a UI indicator for if it's tracking you or not (so you know to press enter to turn it on again). Position updates should be on by default, and it'd be good if it picked up the position where it left off when it restarts. Animated zoom would be nice too...
you have hit the nail on the head with this. i missed this app so much. its great to see it here now.
One more time you did a grat job, yep, it's on my device....really impressed by your apps, really...many many thanks, our N900 is no more the same with your apps inside...
Great start for such a fresh application. I hope Google StreetView will get integrated soon. :)
@jared The application depends on your internet connection to download the maps. If the connection is "slow" it will take longer. With time it will get quicker because you may have some of the map images for the location on your cache. Have you turned the "position updates" on? Until you do the application will not start pooling your position. Also, if you drag the map the application will stop automatically to re-center on your position until you press the "enter" key. first launch was pretty slow - made me wonder if it was broken and would never come up. about 1.5 minutes later the blank white screen switched to a google maps view over grand central station. i turned on position updates, and the GPS says i've got fine accuracy (status bar) but the map still hasn't moved to my actual location (western MA, USA).
still, it looks like a great start - i'm looking forward to how it progresses.
