Perfect!
Perfeito!
Working perfectly here !
Thank you
Is there possibile to port theese codecs ti harmattan (N9/50)?
I love it, but is there any way to get it to see and associate .ra (RealAudio) files? They don't appear in the song browser. I can play them from the file browser but have to tell it to use the Media Player every time.
i updat my phone to pr 1.3 so now
it can play mkv 720p?
I like it. This's so wonderful! Thanks very much! Well, Could you help me? I know we can convert "mkv" to "avi" in pc, but the new file have too large size (up to 3gb/1 clip). So could you upgrade this application with "*.mkv" support? Thanks again!

Great . Dose anyone konw if there is a download for playing mp3s can't play them on my n900
Awesome add-on. Thanks a lot!
Nice one
Hi,
I had the dependancies issue, but as explain by the author after removing "Mirror" and "Mappero" applications, then executing the followings commands it works for me: sudo gainroot apt-get purge decoders-support apt-get autoremove apt-get update apt-get install decoders-support
Thanks Thomasz for your good work
Can someone help me out whenever i try to intall the software I always get "Downloading Extra Decoders Support failed." what should I do?
OK, another application that might conflict with Extra Decoders is Mappero (not Mapper). So if you have problems with conflicting packages, remove Mirror and Mappero, then install Extra Decoders. You can then install Mirror and Mappero again. I'm really not sure why this is necessary.
Also, I would like to remind people that it's possible to donate to support the project, copy and paste this URL into your address bar:
http://stateless.jogger.pl/files/decoders_donate.html
Alright, here's a probable solution to the problem people are having with the upgrade. If you haven't already, install the "rootsh" package from the Application Manager. Then start X Terminal and run (hit Enter after each line):
sudo gainroot
apt-get purge decoders-support
apt-get autoremove
apt-get update
apt-get install decoders-support
great app, but I have the package conflict problem. tried removing the old one and insatlling this one, but still can't install it
If you get the error about gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-extra, uninstall the previous version of the EXTRA DECODERS and install this version. It worked for me.
Hi, I am also facing the problem while installing version 0.4 It says- "Unable to install extra decoder support" Conflict with application package gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra(=0.10.15-git180-0maemo8-*) . I have also remove mirror application, Can any one help me ?
I have removed the Mirror app but still the same error as Rii B. Any other app depends on the old package gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra and does not want to update it?
remove the mirror application.

Great add-on, and I think that you should also list in the description, that it gives support to Apple Lossless. Don't know if it is implemented by purpose, or not, but after installing this codec pack my N900 was able to play Apple Lossless as well
Thanks again!
Quand le N900 lit n'importe quel format, on ne peut qu'adorer ça !
I managed to work around the gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-extra problem via the pool repository here http://repository.maemo.org/pool/fremantle-update2/. If you go to free/g/gst-plugins-bad0.10/ for the actual areml.deb file and you could possibly need to go to http://repository.maemo.org/pool/fremantle-update2/free/w/wildmidi/ for the libwildimidi0 armel.deb file also.
Run dpkg -i on any dependencies before doing the same for gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-extra and then apt-get install decoders-support should work fine ;)
Working great for me, no issues :D
must have feature to widen format support
I get the following error when trying to installl
"The following packages have unmet dependencies: decoders-support: Depends: gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-extra but it is not installable"
any suggestions?
this app or plug-in is so cool!!!
my first time to watch FLV videos using a phone
ok. i installed this software in order to play flv files on my n900..after i installed it,and try to open flv files on media player,it doesnt open and says "doesnt support file".after this message none of the files are supported either, neither music nor videos.so i have to turn off phone in order to play normal videos and music, but it still doesnt open flv files
im new to this hole maemo scene and not sure what the correct procedure to request funtionality is so im going to do it here. is there any way you would be able to support the codecs needed to play the files that come from here. iphone.tvcatchup.com im not sure which audio codecs are needed to play this file.

must have!!!
Thank you. Must-have
At this point any problems you are experiencing have more to do with the Media Player itself than Extra Decoders Support. It's not Media Player's fault explicitly, but it's a fact that it doesn't support seeking in most of the additional file formats.
There's only two more things on the roadmap (no release schedule), which is streamlining installation so it's more robust, and adding Wavpack support.
In the mean time you can donate using PayPal http://stateless.jogger.pl/files/decoders_donate.html
I've already received 4 EUR! :)
These are really useful, however there's one annoyance that I've had since the very first time I watched a flv video with it: I can't fast-forward or rewind with flv files.
With or without ffw/rew, it's a must-have though.
All right now good job on this update bro nice da.... work man I love it(FLAC files still need a little work but that's all I see that need some work) I can only play FLAC files , can not rewind or fast forward but all in all good work sir.
Tomasz Thank you (I would like to help out if I can)
This app should be embedded in the OS, thank you.
Others have commented on the usefulness of the application. I agree with them of course.
I'd give 6 or even 7 stars if I could for one particular little detail you cared about, Tomasz: Both the package description and the "Display Name" for the application manager are translated in several languages. Only few authors think of this... I loved it when I saw it! Thank you for making your package so professional and user friendly!
Thanks for sharing your work. Great addition that improves the media player a lot.
I'm using V0.3 and haven't found any issues.
Thank you! I was wondering if my Flac files could be played when i bought the phone!
perfect. more formats supported now
Tomasz
Thank you
شكرا
Hey Aaron, please refer to the Troubleshooting guide. This is a fairly typical issue.
http://code.google.com/p/extra-decoders-support-for-n900/wiki/Troubleshooting
Also, keep in mind that some formats are not indexed by the Media Player, but can be played using the File Manager, this is a known problem.
nice work. I think im doing something wrong when I open up my player in try to go to music it say no songs but if I go to the audio file I can play them fine, should it be this way? It worked before I install Extra Decoders , is there something I can do to fix this?

Must-have package! Most media files will play just fine with it.
Just as an update, decoding of .ts MPEG2 transport streams still fails. (At least when accessed in the Media Player over DLNA, haven't tested if it works when I copy the file over.)
Just one comment on GPU support. GPU does not help in this case. It is the DSP that is accelerating the decoding. The DSP is a TI C64x. The resolution is intentionaly clamped at around the display size as the dsp is not fast enough to do higher resolutions. Also please be aware that the DSP cannot accelerate all of H264 Main and High profile.
Thank you for having and enjoying this, that's awesome!
brilliant app !!
I've encounteres some difficulties while updating to this new version, but after removing and reinstalling works very well. I agree with Ivan, a GPU support in video playback would be great, is that possible? Last thing: the resolution limitation is hardware or software?
one of my favorit apps! some codecs still missing but i'm sure it's only a question of time. i can play vids i weren't able to play without converting -> ***** :D
Great, thank you.
This allowed me to play certain formats that were unplayable before - however without the GPU support, so the playback was choppy even at low bitrates. Recoding the material in H.264 baseline or MPEG4 did the trick, but it defeats the purpose of having these codecs. Is it possible to have the GPU supported playback when using these codecs?
Can't play MPEG2 Transport Streams recorded on my Sat receiver via UPnP in Canola.
I retested the codecs on my machine, and I must have mistaken an internet connection problem for the problem that I thought I had with the added codecs. Everything works perfectly. Sorry for speaking up too quickly.
BTW, this works great with zoutube's download feature. It lets you view saved youtube clips in the media player.
Now i just need to find out how to have media player recognize flv's so I don't have to use the file manager to play them.
Andrew, you don't need to manually install any dependencies, they are pulled automatically, otherwise there would be no point in having this packages, would there.
You need to keep in mind that there is no support for H.264 Main or High profiles and those are used for Matroska (MKV) containers usually. Matroska support is there (try to create an MKV file using XviD video and MP3 audio, it does play back), the decoders for most often used video formats in this container are not there. Hopefully "yet".
I apologize for being ignorant, but what is the process of making this work? I installed all the "dependent" deb files in addition to installing this. However, I still can't view any mkv files within the media player. I've tried multiple files as well. Thanks for your help in advance.
Works for me! I havent's encountered the bug reported by Sterling w, i can play internet radio through my Media Player well. Nice job
I don't know if this is the correct place to post this or not, but this set of codecs breaks the media player's internet radio stations. I appreciate the work that was put into writing support for MKV's and hope that this project matures
how can i play flv? try file manager, browser and media player, but didn't recognize .flv
