Junaidi, switch off extras devel repo and then install this app again. worked fine for me. Dawid, gadu-gadu works just fine with it.
I kept getting this message of "Unable to install'Pidgin protocols plugin for conversations and contacts. Some application packages required for the installation are missing' and
when I checked on details, it says "Apllication packages missing: upstart.job "
Tried reinstalling a new downloaded copy but kept getting the same thing.
Appreciate if anyone could guide me on how to reinstall this plugins

Tous les plus grands protocoles sur un téléphone ! J'adore !
I have had my N900 for awhile now so I know my battery life. When I show my availability as "online" for AIM my battery fried - bad - I was shocked. I can't use it if sucks the battery this bad. Please look into this. I was so excited it was finally here so I hope this is fixed.
GaduGadu dosnt work:(
One of those plug-ins that you forget you installed.
Must-have.
This works great. I used ICQ, Yahoo and MSN Haze through this plugin initially, but have since disabled ICQ as I no longer need it, and have replaced MSN Haze with MSN Pecan
I am currently running this plugin alongside Skype, Facebook (Jabber), Gtalk and MSN Pecan with no problems.
msn and yahoo work fine
Facebook IM contacts cannot be merged with existing contacts. :-/
Tried the Facebook and MSN plugins. Otherwise they work fine, but IM contacts cannot be merged with existing contacts. (They will reappear after merging.) This is extremely annoying. Now I'm using MSN Pecan instead.
Another must have. AIM, MSN, and Yahoo added.
AIM and MSN work, but for ICQ and Yahoo I cannot create an account. I have filed a bug here:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26462
Does anyone know if the issue is solved in the version in extras-testing (0.8)?
Is this plugin still being maintained? I filed bug like over a week ago https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26330 and I am yet to get a response from the maintainers. Bugzilla is not the easiest of tools to use, and when a user takes his time to report a bug the least thing the developer can do is take a look at the report and get back to the user (fixed, wont fix, pending, incomplete, invalid anything) so the user knows that at least someone listened. I filed the same bug against the msn-pecan plugin (which uses the same library as this plugin) The maintainer not only got back to me, he accepted the bug, tagged it high and got it fixed in less than a week of filling. Am not expecting the same speed from this app but at least acknowledge that my effort was not in vain. Maybe all you guys want to hear is positive feedbacks? In anycase if you dont attend to bug reports perhaps you should take out the "Report a bug against this application. " link so users can safe their time cheer leading
Fraking epic.
Connected up with MSN and works a treat. Tried Yahoo but nothing happened after trying to sign in (at account setup).
Phonebook and messaging integration in Maemo is definitely a killer! This really makes N900 a converged product.
I don't know why this site is claiming it can do Facebook chat, only 0.8 can do that. I cannot remove the mentioning of Facebook either, which sucks.
If you want FB chat in extras faster, vote for it here: http://maemo.org/packages/package_instance/view/fremantle_extras-testing_free_armel/account-plugin-haze/0.8/
I'm using Sametime but it's not integrated into existing contacts. The sametime contacts are empty (not even a sametime entry) and because of this they are sorted to the top of the contacts list alphabetically (since they don't have a name). If the sametime account could be an entry in the normal contacts (like gtalk, sip, etc is) it would be more user-friendly...
I have the FB account option. I'm trying right now as I type this to set it up. It doesn't look like it's trying to log in though. No deny, or login. Just sits there. It still needs some work.
I seem to have everything listed as an option expcept Facebook (the only reason I installed this, lol). What gives?
Cool ! Thanks ! Waiting for Facebook protocol...
hey! where is facebook?! the only protocol I was waiting for :(
Great work, can we get a screenshot please :)
I don't have the facebook chat option, which I had with the v0.8 in extras-testing :( I rebooted but nothing
I can not see how facebook is added in this.
works fine :-)
1 bug to fix: Enable the option to connect from more then one account with MSN protocol.
10X
Any chance the pluggin would support network proxy. Libpurple has good proxy support so that shouldnt be impossible to implement. Already msn-pecan plugin for conversation gained which also uses libpurple now has proxy support.
Very Cool! Now i have my msn contacts integrated with my phone contacts! Ty!
Very Cool! Know i have my msn contacts integrated with my phone contacts! Ty!
I am unable to get this to work. I go to settings -> VoIP andIM accounts -> New and see no other options than the default ones.
