SMSCON allows to control and track your Nokia N900 by sending SMS messages to it.
This helps finding the phone in case it got lost or stolen. Configure SMSCON via xterm command-line (smscon command) or via user interface supplied by 'SMSCON-Editor'.

The reverse-SSH feature isn't documented well, when trying it it asks for a password, but AFAIK there shouldn't be one. A prompt for 'password' did come up during SMSCon Editor install, but the box had no title or other hints, so I just tapped outside it and it went away. If this is critical to the functionality, it needs to say so, abort install in cancelled, and explain the implications, if any, of setting one (e.g. does rootsh still work etc).
Also, email never seems to arrive. My mailserver requires TLS as do most public-facing servers: Jan 31 21:05:53 bookcase sendmail[9171]: warning: /etc/hosts.allow, line 7: can't verify hostname: getaddrinfo(host212-183-132-60.uk.access.vodafone.net, AF_INET) failed Jan 31 21:06:00 bookcase sendmail[9171]: STARTTLS=server, relay=host212-183-132-60.uk.access.vodafone.net [212.183.132.60] (may be forged), version=TLSv1/SSLv3, verify=NO, cipher=DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA, bits=256/256 Jan 31 21:06:02 bookcase sendmail[9171]: p0VL5rXs009171: host212-183-132-60.uk.access.vodafone.net [212.183.132.60] (may be forged) did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to network-MTA Jan 31 21:06:13 bookcase dovecot: imap-login: Login: user=, method=PLAIN, rip=212.183.140.29, lip=192.168.11.2, mpid=9210, TLS
